Living in the Vine: Resurrection is a discipleship podcast rooted in John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches.” Hosted by John Johnson and Pastor James Grossi, we equip listeners to abide in Jesus through biblical teaching, historical insight, and engaging discussions. Relaunched from our 2017 run, the podcast explores faith’s intersection with history, current events, and theology, featuring games like “Biblical or Not” to test doctrines against Scripture. Meet the Hosts

John Johnson: A devoted husband, father of many, and head of the tech ministry at Calvary Baptist Church of Riverhead, John brings a pessimistic and cynical view to the mic, guiding conversations with a heart for discipleship.
Pastor James Grossi: One of the Pastors at Calvary Bapitst Church of Riverhead, James offers deep theological insight, grounding discussions in sola scriptura and Christ’s headship (Colossians 1:18).

Our Statement of Faith

As members of Calvary Baptist Church, we affirm its statement of faith found here but here are some brief highlights of our beliefs:

• Scripture: The Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word, sufficient for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
• God: One God exists in three persons—Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 143:3).
• Salvation: Sinners are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9).
• Church: The local church is Christ’s body, called to worship, disciple, and proclaim the gospel (Matthew 28:18–20).
• Last Things: Christ will return to judge and reign eternally (Revelation 22:12–13).
